Injuries reported in San Francisco mass shooting
Several victims were shot during a mass shooting in the
Mission district of San Francisco on Friday night, but authorities denied any
fatalities.
In a tweet, the San Francisco Police Department said:
"We can confirm there are 9 victims of the shooting, all are expected to
survive." The police added that there was no ongoing threat and the
shooting "appears to be targeted and isolated," according to the
Associated Press. The city's Emergency Management Department earlier tweeted
urging residents to avoid the area of 24th Street and Treat Avenue. Police said officers responded to the shooting shortly after
9 p.m., according to KPIX-TV. The injured were taken to the hospital, but their condition
was not immediately known.
