San Jacinto County mass shooting suspect had a phone when he was captured in closet at a house

Texas's COLDSPRING (KTRK) The domestic partner of the San Jacinto County mass murder suspect was among those detained when he was taken into custody on Tuesday, according to an update from District Attorney Todd Dillon on Wednesday.

About 11 miles from the crime scene in Cut and Shoot, Texas—a city in Montgomery County—Francisco Oropeza was apprehended at around 6:15 p.m. He was discovered inside a house, under a mound of laundry, in a closet, according to authorities.

Oropeza is suspected of opening fire on his neighbors at a San Jacinto County home, killing five of them, including a third-grader.

Soon after officials boosted the prize for information leading to Oropeza's apprehension, he was arrested. After the FBI offered a $100,000 reward, multi-county Crime Stoppers offered $5,000, Texas Governor Greg Abbott added $50,000, and the U.S. Marshals added $20,000 on Tuesday.

According to records from the Montgomery County Jail system examined by ABC13, Divimara Lamar Nava was detained on Tuesday for obstructing the capture of a felon. Dillon claims that she was present when Oropeza was taken into custody.

According to the sheriff's office, her bond is $250,000 and she is being detained in custody.

A person with knowledge of the probe informed ABC News that Oropeza is not married and that Nava is his domestic partner.

The other individuals arrested in this case were not inside the house where Oropeza was found, Deputy Sheriff Tim Kean said. Authorities have not identified who they are or their relation to Oropeza.

Dillon did tell us that one of Oropeza's friends or acquaintances was booked into the San Jacinto County Jail Tuesday night on possession of marijuana charges. He is suspected of helping Oropeza flee the neighborhood where the crime took place. Dillon said additional charges will be filed.
