Jackson Mahomes, brother of NFL superstar Patrick, was arrested and charged with sexual battery
According to court documents, Patrick Mahomes' younger brother Jackson Mahomes was detained on Wednesday and charged with sexual battery.
The Johnson County District Attorney's Office has charged Mahomes with three charges of aggravated sexual battery and one crime of battery.
The 22-year-old was taken into custody and put into a correctional facility on Wednesday at 7 a.m. ET. He was freed after posting a $100,000 bond, according to court documents.
With the help of his social media posts, notably his TikTok
account, which has more than a million followers, Jackson Mahomes has been more
well-known in recent years. Mahomes remained silent throughout his initial court
appearance. According to CNN affiliate KCTV, he practically seemed to be in
custody from jail before posting a bond. He avoided answering questions from reporters about the
event after leaving court. He was being escorted by a man who remarked,
"We can't say anything right now, excuse us." Jackson Mahomes' representative, Brandan Davies, issued the
following statement to CNN: "The Court has prohibited the defendant and
lawyers from commenting on the matter." The Aspens Restaurant and Lounge, the reported incident's
location, has been contacted by CNN for comment. Before charges were brought, Davies provided KCTV with a
statement in March. According to the statement, KCTV, "We have
given law enforcement the tools and evidence they need to assess the claims
against Jackson." "The appropriate context must be given to every
human contact. A brief excerpt from any video is never released with sufficient
context. We trust the procedure and anticipate an early conclusion to the
issue.
