The products are advertised online as a kind of golden ticket that will help propel Trump’s 2024 bid and make the “real patriots” who support him rich when cashed in
Suspected con artists have been mining their disappointment over the 2016 presidential election for gold in the dark corners of the internet where some of Donald Trump's most ardent followers fuel conspiracies and plan his return to the White House.
They've been selling "Trump Bucks," which have
pictures of the late president on them, and promoting them online as a sort of
golden ticket that will support Trump's run for president in 2024 and make the
"real patriots" who back him wealthy when cashed in. According to John Amann, who spoke to NBC News, he spent
$2,200 on Trump Bucks and other things over the past year only to find out they
were useless when he sought to redeem them at his neighborhood bank. In order
to warn other Trump fans not to fall for this con, he took to Twitter. Patriots Dynasty, Patriots Future, and USA Patriots are the
Colorado-based businesses that manufacture the Trump Bucks, according to NBC
News, which also looked at hundreds of deceptive product advertisements.
Additionally, NBC News has discovered at least a dozen individuals, including
Amann, who claim to have made large financial commitments after viewing
presentations for the products on Telegram and other websites that strongly
implied that Trump himself was endorsing them.
