A 4-YEAR AGREEMENT BETWEEN ORLANDO BROWN JR. AND THE CINCINNATI BENGALS
A 4-YEAR AGREEMENT BETWEEN ORLANDO BROWN JR. AND THE CINCINNATI BENGALS
Orlando Brown Jr., an
offensive tackle, has agreed to a four-year, $64.1 million contract with the
Cincinnati Bengals, according to an NFL Network report on Wednesday. A
record-breaking $31 million signing bonus, for an offensive lineman, is part of
the agreement.
One of the 23 unsigned
free agents for the Kansas City Chiefs this summer, Brown contributed to the
team's victory against the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl LVII. On the
franchise tag, he participated in the 2022 NFL season.
Brown is rated in the
top five just for his Super Bowl parade shirt. He and other Chiefs offensive
linemen wore plain T-shirts with the text "0 Sacks" about
the fact that quarterback Patrick Mahomes was not sacked in Super Bowl LVII
despite facing the league-best defensive line from Philadelphia. Add to that the fact
that Brown is a top tackle in the league but isn't signed to a long-term
contract. To maintain both Brown and RT Andrew Wylie, the Chiefs
are anticipated to franchise tag the 26-year-old. Nevertheless, they must also
pay Brown or he will return to this list the next year. Brown joined the
Chiefs after being selected by the Baltimore Ravens in the third round of the
2018 NFL Draft, which made him the ninth offensive tackle chose that year. Brown
played for the Ravens from 2018 to 2020, but during his debut season, he only
started 11 games (regular season + postseason). Brown played for the
Ravens and was named to two Pro Bowls.
